Founded in 2024 in the San Antonio, Texas metropolitan region by Chad Roasa, Mustang Coffee Co. has quickly gained a reputation for offering top-quality products that satisfy even the most discerning coffee enthusiasts. Our commitment to excellence is evident in our carefully selected beans and meticulous roasting process. 

Chad began his own personal coffee journey in the mid 1990s while growing up in the suburbs of Saginaw, Michigan. His Dad, Bill, introduced him to coffee…black coffee. Bill would often mention, “If you want to drink coffee, drink it black.” Drinking coffee black makes sure you can taste the coffee and appreciate the intricacies of the beans. Of course, in a middle class home, the coffee of choice was often either Maxwell House or Folger’s, depending on which one was on sale or had a coupon available. On various camping trips around Michigan there was generally coffee available to warm everyone up in the early, crisp air each morning. This led to Chad’s appreciation and fascination with coffee. This was fueled even more while working as an EMT for a part time job at one of Huron Valley Ambulance’s stations in Albion or Jackson during his time at college and over the summer break. These long hours often required a caffeine source to keep going. Back in those days, late night coffee was often a stale, burnt, semi-warm gas station brew that may or may not have still been left over from that morning and kept on the warmer. 

In May 2001, Chad joined the United States Air Force and continued to drink coffee at various duty stations around the US and abroad. While working late at night, very early in the morning, or during prolonged shifts due to mission demands, a steady caffeine source was required. Over the next 20 years, this allowed him to experience a lot of various roasts, other coffee beverages such as espresso drinks and iced coffee, and develop a further appreciation for good, quality coffee. Because he always would drink the coffee black, he found out quickly the types of things that made for an exceptional cup of coffee and the brands to avoid.
